Norwegian Wonder of the Seas

Cruise ships were a constant part of growing up in the Caribbean. As time went on they became more accessible and adding destinations by the year. As I grew into travel, I ignored them all together because I had a biased mindset to them. I thought, I am from an island, why would I want to visit other islands that offer the same thing, I was wrong. Not only do other islands offer different amenities but cruising as a whole is not about the islands. The ships are the attraction here and the islands are just the added bonus.

I have been on one cruise in my life and i'm happy to share it wont be my last. I flew into Fort Lauderdale the day of the cruise and it was seamless, however I would not suggest you do that in todays climate. Fly in the day before to avoid all issues. Airlines do not reimburse cruises due to missed flights.

Took an uber from the airport to the Cruise Terminal and was surprised with the efficiency. Bag tags are sent in advance and the bags are collected outside and are sent to your room. Your only responsible for the handbags going in. You typically go through airport style security prior to boarding the ships. One thing i learned pretty quickly was to take the VIP package as it reduces lines everywhere.

The welcoming reception on the first night is everything, followed by the particular meet ups. Every night an itinerary for the next day is left in your room for the upcoming port and excursions avalable. The unlimited food as well is an added bonus.

Celebrity Equinox was the trip of choice. The port of calls were Grand Cayman Cayman Islands, Cozumel Mexico and Bimini Bahamas. Each place had its own special thing and the food onboard mirrored the location for the day. The shows on the final night were particularly amazing and the enitre experience changed the way I look at cruising. Cruise vacations are one stop fits all and a great way to take a family on a trip and have a little something for everyone.
