I’ve always said credit and travel go hand in hand. A travel rewards card bridges the gap between the two and rewards you with the benefit of the best of both worlds. Having great credit increases your chances of being accepted for that travel rewards card and once you have it the sky is the limit. Travel rewards card often comes with a high sign up bonuses, travel credits, statement credits, points and other perks. The only downfall of these cards at times is the fact they have high annual fees. Here are a few options for the best no fee credit cards available:

The Bank of America Travel Rewards Credit Card - This card offers 20,000 bonus points after spending $1000.00 within 90 days of account opening. That's enough for a $200 statement credit. There is also 1.5 bonus points per dollar for all purchases. Cardholders with a Bank of America checking or savings account also receives an extra 10% point bonus. Also if your a Preferred Rewards client, your bonus could be as much as 75%. There is no foreign transaction fee and no annual fee.

The Capital One VentureOne Rewards Credit Card offers unlimited 1.25 miles on every dollar spent on the card. There is also a 20,000-mile bonus once you spend $1000.00 within 3 months of account opening. The bonus is equal to $200.00 in travel. Miles can be used for cash back, gift cards or statement credits. There are no foreign transaction fees and the annual fee is waived for the first year. After that, the fee is USD 95.00.

The American Express Premier Rewards Gold Card is not a credit card but a charge card, the balance must be paid in full at the end of each month. The sign-up bonus is 25,000 points after spending $2000 within 90 days. There is no introductory annual fee then it is $195.00. I know you’re thinking its a lot but the perks definitely outweigh the fee. There is an annual travel fee credit of $100.00, a $75.00 hotel fee credit for spas and other activities (American Express Hotel Collection only) as well as a host of other special benefits. Also, there is no foreign transaction fee.

The Platinum Card by American Express - This is my go to travel card for more reasons than one. It is the one card I think every traveler should have. The perks are endless. This card is a charge card, so the balance has to be paid in full every month. There are no foreign transaction fees and the annual fee is $550.00. I can give you a hundred reasons why you would want this card but I’ll let you decide for yourself.
