St Kitts and Nevis, to some it's the sister island paradise in the middle of the Caribbean ocean. For others, it's a second home or tax haven, a byproduct of its flourishing Citizen by Investment Program but for me its home.

I've pretty much spent the the past ten years traveling the world and one place I hadn't been to in a while was home. 2016 was the last time I set foot on the islands and I decided that was far too long. I flew into St Kitts and spent a few nigths at the Koi Resort. Nestled on the beach in the Half Moon Bay section of St Kitts, the hotel is a nice getaway for those that like peace and quiet. Of course, I had obligations to attend to on island but once that was over, I'd return to my island paradise for some quiet and relaxation.

I then took the Iconnect Ferry service over to Nevis, something that wasn't there the last time I was. The boat docked and it took me a while to realize where I was. Before I knew it I was halfway home.

It's been a while since I had absolutely nothing to do and I took full advantage of it. The feeling of waking up in the morning and going outside to the island sun. Picking mangoes from my own tree and having local fruit juices. Midday I'd go to the beach and return home in time for dinner. Most days I lost track of time and most nights I slept under the stars in peace. Things I once wanted to escape as a child are things i've grown to appreciate as an adult.

Every time I think about how I left great weather for cold, I wonder if I made the right choice. Climbing Nevis Peak is on my to do list as well as other things on island. I see myself returning soon, not as a local but as a tourist to bring you the finer things my island has to offer.
