Hotels
The most well-known form of accommodation on a trip, hotels are sometimes more for luxury travelers. Marriott, Hilton, SPG, and Hyatt are the leading brands in the hotel business. You can either book directly with the hotels or third-party sites such as booking.com, priceline.com, and hotels.com.
Hostels
Associated with students and budget travelers, hotels are a great way to have a once in a lifetime experience and a way to save money. Hostelworld is a great way to meet the world for less.
Couchsurfing
Reserved for the true budget travelers, couchsurfing is something that I have not tried but many raves about. Here is where strangers, mostly other travelers, let you stay on their couch or extra bedroom once you travel. Sign up here.
Airbnb
Airbnb has had its share of troubles legally in cities such as New York and Japan, however, it is a great way to see a city from a locals eye. I’ve stayed in Airbnb’s from Europe to Havana and trust me when I say, you won't regret it.
Housesitting
Housesitters travel for extended periods of time and have minimal jobs, such as feeding pets and cleaning. Its a travelers dream if you're lucky enough. Free room and board in exchange for great experiences, cant get any better than that.
Camping
Iceland was the first place I came across that was big on camping, however, there are a lot of places where this is totally acceptable. Did I mention, it saves a lot too.
