St. Elizabeth Church
St. Elizabeth Church

I boarded a morning train in Vienna and took the hour long ride from Vienna Central Station to Bratslava. With just a few hours turnaround, I knew I had no time to waste. I took an Uber to Bratislava Old Town. There I was met with the most beautiful church I'd seen, the Blue Church. The correct name is the Church of St. Elizabeth and its a Hungarian Catholic Church from 1907.

From the church, I walked further into the Old Town to see a mix of old and new. The buildings more or less look similar but it's evident the ones that had work done to them and the ones that didn't. I then stopped for a quick drink at the Urban House before catching a walking tour. The tour stopped at Michaels Gate, The Bratislava Castle, St.Michaels Catherdral and the Presidential Palace. The thing about walking tours, they are a good way to actually know what your looking at and return in your own time to soak up the history. It's also the best way to get the cool spots in town from the local guide, like going to Tatratea's for the best mulled wine in the country.

After the tour, I wanted to have dinner. What better way experience the food than a Christmas market in Old Town Square? I considered this one to be the best i've been to considering the price of the food, the variety of food items they had and the amount of people it had to interact with.

I then took an uber back to the train station in order to return to Vienna. The trip was intended to be a quick getaway while in Vienna but it has the potential to turn into something else in the future.
