Bay of Kotor
Bay of Kotor

My driver picked me up 8:00 AM from my hotel and we began the drive into Montenegro. The Boarder crossing is about an hour away from Dubrovnik and you quickly realize you're in a difference place based on the architecture of the buildings.

The first stop was the Bay of Kotor, which has a feel or Scandinavian Fjords. There is also a church in the middle of the water but more on that later. We stopped at old city in Kotor and had a walking tour of the city. Although small, it has a lot of history packed into it. The city also has a thing for cats so you will see them everywhere. There is also quite a few churches. The highest being a 45 minute hike above the city and makes for some great picture plus bragging rights.

Next stop is the quaitn town of Perast. Perast has been around for ages and is very unassuming. Nestled below the rocks of the highway, there is one road in and out and everyone basically lives along the water. It's a great place for food pastries and deserts.

This is where you can also take boats to the church in the middle of the water.

I'm pretty sure Montenegro has much more to offer but considering the short time, I am intrigued to learn more.
